Mayumi (Erich Gonzales) is a girl with a happy disposition in life who dreams of meeting her "the one" someday. She has been dreaming of meeting her "the one" and having the perfect wedding ever since she was a little girl. When she meets Lance (Enchong Dee), a Chinese descendant, in a wedding, she immediately knows that he is "the one" she is waiting for, her faith and destiny. The two of them become lovers despite the unwillingness of their families to their relationship.
The unsupportiveness of Lance's family was shown during a birthday party, where Mayumi wore a blue dress while everyone else in the party wore red. (During celebrations, it is customary for the Chinese to wear red attires.) Lance's family talked about how she was very different in front of her in Chinese. They also tell Lance about how inappropriate his companion is.
One day, Mayumi tells her friends about her current condition, about how she recently seems to be very choosy of what to eat and also how she always feels like urinating. Her friends immediately accompany her to the drugstore, thinking of the possibility that she might be pregnant. Turns out, Mayumi is pregnant. Her family, especially her father, is very disappointed of her and tells her to move out. Mayumi temporarily lives in Lance's house. She is forced to marry Lance. Although Mayumi loves the idea of becoming Lance's bride, Lance on the other hand has doubts on Mayumi becoming his wife. He doesn't have enough money for the extravagant wedding that Mayumi wants, since his family is not very supportive on the idea of him marrying a Filipino and also because the baby is not a boy. Being a Chinese, Lance is obliged to marry also a girl of Chinese descent to keep the Chinese blood tradition. The glory her hometown once knew was slowly disappearing in favour of life abroad, particularly in Australia. Arah believes this too. Australia will save them from poverty. But Migo (Piolo Pascual) does not share this belief. He believes that Bukidnon’s glory will return if only people didn’t leave. Migo is Arah’s first love.
When Arah’s father suddenly encounters an accident, Arah is left with no choice but to seek better opportunities to earn money. Arah, in desperation accepts money from the Australian rancher Brian in exchange for a contract. Her decision breaks Migo’s heart. The two part ways, their problems unresolved.
With the help of her co-workers, especially her new found frined, Ina (a Filipina working there as a cook), Arah slowly adjusted to the life in Australia. She is willing to hold her ground and tough it up along with the boys just to fulfill her dreams for herself and her family. It was this determination that caught the attention of the cold and mysterious Brian.
Meanwhile, Migo was experiencing his own wave of reality. Bukidnon is not what it used to be. And fighting to keep a ranch alive and working is something he cannot do without enough experience. Despite his enthusiasm and hard work, his investments crumble slowly until he is left with nothing but a humbling realization—there is money in Australia, but his dreams shouldn’t really end there. Migo decides to give the land down under a try. With fierce hopes of earning back what he lost, he flies to Australia, to the land where his beloved Arah went when she left him for her dreams.

Ispiritista: Itay, may moomoo!
The lovable Victor (Vic Sotto) became a widower when his lovely wife Linda (Iza Calzado) suddenly died one night. Still grieving months after the tragic loss, Victor now drinks a bottle or two of beer to ease his heartache. He drinks only when he thinks his son Tom Tom (BJ Forbes) isn’t looking.
—and make some money in the process. With the help of two cohorts, Wally (Wally Bayola) & George (Jose Manalo), Victor passes himself off as an “Ispiritista” who can communicate with restless spirits…for a handsome fee. The innocent Tom Tom has no idea that his dad is a fake medium. In fact, the little boy idolizes his father and proudly tells his classmates that his father gets rids of ghosts for a living.
Victor is hired by Tom Tom’s school to speak to the ghost of a little girl and ask her to leave the campus. As his dad prepares, a surprised Tom Tom discovers that he can see and talk to Didith (Abigail Arazo), the little girl’s ghost. She tells Tom Tom what needs to be done to calm her restless soul. Tom Tom obeys her instructions, and she stops haunting the school. Victor takes the credit and accepts the school’s thanks for a job well done.
After this success, Victor quickly finds more ghost-busting work. Impressed by how he handled the school ghost, the lovely Lalaine (Cindy Kurleto) hires Victor to rid her boarding house of a quartet of see-through spooks (Teri Onor, Allan K., Soxy Topacio, Antonio Aquitania) who are scaring her sexy single boarders.
Victor promptly accepts, believing Lalaine could be a wonderful new wife for him, not to mention a caring new mother for Tom Tom. But Victor’s hopes that Lalaine will also fall in love with him are dashed when she discovers that Victor is merely a con artist who can’t even see ghosts, much less talk to them.
But just when Victor is about to apologize for his sins, he realizes that he has suddenly developed the power to see and speak to ghosts…for real! Victor realizes what he must now do to make up for his lies. In Ispiritista’s spirited, inventive climax, Victor, Tom Tom, Lalaine, Wally, George, and an absent-minded priest Fr. Serbis
"Serbis" is not a gay movie. We should get that out of the way up front. This movie from the Philippines mainly concerns a family struggling to make ends meet in a run-down movie theater.
The Pineda family have court cases, pregnancies, and other family issues going on. All of the struggles they are going through doesn't leave them much time to deal with the fact that their "adult only" movie theater isn't attended for the movies they show, but is actually a meeting place for male prostitutes (serbis) and their gay clients.
I thought the movie was well done, but a bunch of interlaced stories stretched across 85 minutes doesn't leave much time to get too invested in any one story. I'd almost have preferred one family story and more investment, but as with any movie from another country, it's always interesting just seeing how people live their daily lives elsewhere.
So, you may definitely see references to the gay backdrop in "Serbis," but that element of the story isn't really the point of the movie. If you go there expecting a lot of that, you won't be very happy. If you want to see a Filipino movie that played Cannes and other major film festivals, that is all about struggle and family life, you're much better off.

Angelina is a 7 year old brilliant and talented girl who is spoiled and a bully. Her first yaya (nanny) was hospitalized because of the girl's disobedience (A fire happened before she was hospitalized. Angelina was the cause of the fire because her yaya tried to teach her how to grill). Her parents decided to find her another yaya which would fit for her attitude.
After a lot of applicants decide to quit the job due to Angelina's attitude, a woman named Rosalinda "Cha-Cha" Lucero applies for the job, and is accepted. She thought that being Angelina's yaya would be an easy job, but after some time, some tragedies occur because of Angelina such as Angelina putting a can of beer in a microwave oven at a supermarket, causing the explosion of the supermarket; she fighting with her schoolmate in a zoo; and Angelina going to the top of a belltower. Angelina's mom decides to discharge Rosalinda if she causes any more problems. Rosalinda is frustrated about the things Angelina's mom told her. Angelina tries to make her yaya happy, only to cause Rosalinda to be fired after accidentally killing her father's pet fish.
Because her mother and father considers a yaya cannot help their daughter, Angelina lived without a yaya. With no-one to protect her, Angelina is accidentally kidnapped by a group of terrorists. Because of Angelina failing to call her mom and dad who were busy, she calls Rosalinda. Angelina describes a place near the warehouse (she saw the words LOSER, which was really part of a signboard saying ManoLO SERvice Center). Thinking Angelina is just playing with her, Rosalinda discharges her call. Later on, Rosalinda is convinced to help Angelina after thinking if Angelina is saying the truth. She goes to the church, where she remembered the bell ringing while Angelina was calling. There she saw the word LO SER, which pertains to Manolo Service Center. She knew that the terrorists' hideout is near. At the warehouse, she finds Angelina, and saves her. Meanwhile, Angelina's mom and dad thought that Rosalinda kidnapped Angelina as revenge for firing her.
Due to Angelina's escape, the terrorists' leader Eve kidnaps Angelina's parents. The only way to save them is that Angelina should give flowers with a bomb inside to the Duchess of Wellington, who the terrorists want to kill while she makes her speech in Angelina's school. Rosalinda finds a way to stop the terrorist from killing the Duchess by changing the flowers Angelina is holding with another set of flowers. Upon getting the flowers, Rosalinda arrives inside Eve's bus and fights with her. Outside, Angelina is captured by Eve.
Only Eve can fall down, and the terrorists are falling down. Angelina's parents decide to make Rosalinda as Angelina's permanent yaya. Wag Kang Lilingon
Wag Kang Lilingon (English: Don't Turn Away, more specifically Don't Look Back) is a 2006 Filipino Star Cinema and Viva Films film starring Anne Curtis and Kristine Hermosa. The movie is directed by Jerry Lopez Sinengneng and Quark Henares. This is the first movie produced by Viva Films and Star Cinema years after Viva split from ABS-CBN in 2001.
"Wag Kang Lilingon" is divided into two stories: Uyayi and Salamin. Each of the two episodes brings one mission:
Uyayi
Cast: Anne Curtis, Raymond Bagasting, Marvin Agustin, Kathleen Hermosa
Uyayi (Lullaby) opens with the story of an obscure hospital being gripped by controversy because of its strange nature.
An obscure hospital named the Angel of Mercy hospital was haunted by unknown spirits. Most of the victims are male patients. A nurse named Melissa (Anne Curtis) points the finger of blame to Dr. Carl (Raymond Bagatsing), one of the superior doctors of the aforementioned hospital.
A frantic Melissa seeks help from her boyfriend James (Marvin Agustin). Melissa and James conclude that someone or something makes the patients die. James offered to spy at the hospital, pretending to be a sick patient to investigate if Dr. Carl is indeed the killer. They even interviewed a patient, to no avail, gaining no information.
The next night at 3AM, the spirits attacked again, this time killing another patient. Some doctors speculated that he died in a nightmare. Worse, Melissa discovered that James had a girlfriend before thus making a temporary turmoil between them. James and Melissa's plan failed.
The tide began to turn, one night, when Dr. Carl was found dead in his car. Sensing danger, Melissa's sanity began to wane: she wonders if the culprit is human. A series of apparations began to manifest themselves, driving her crazy.
The conclusion of it all began at the 3AM next morning. The hauntings worsened: she began to see hallucinations of James being murdered. Finally, the young journalist calmed her down and formulated their next move.
Surprisingly, Melissa began to hum a lullaby: a very spine-chilling lullaby resembling a mockingbird's song. James, then, was pushed back by Melissa into a shelf of chemicals and the nurse began to kill him as well. It was revealed that Melissa was the real culprit.
Salamin
Cast: Kristine Hermosa, Celine Lim, Cherry Pie Picache, Baron Geisler, Archie Alemania, Soliman Cruz
Salamin (Mirror/Lens) grips us into the uncanny tale of a family moving into a new house, which was seemed uninhabited for years. This old house has nothing, even electricity, making the atmosphere horrible.
Rosing (Ms. Cherry Pie Picache), along with her daughters Angel (Kristine Hermosa) and Nina (Celine Lim) begin a new life at their new home. However, Rosing detects the smell of blood. It was happening ever since they sat foot at the house. Angel dismisses it, saying she is sick. The girls explored the rest of the house, saying it was perfect. Meanwhile, Nina tries to open a door leading to the basement, but to no avail.
One night, during a happy dance and dinner, the mysterious door opened itself. This door was the one Nina was trying to open that morning. They examined the basement to see an antique-looking mirror. Angel then told Nina of a superstition: once you lighted a candle in front of a mirror, during a full moon, make a wish and it will come true. Rosing objected to their plan, saying it's too dangerous.
So dangerous it is. Immediately, after their little "ritual", strange things began to stir the atmosphere. What the girls don't know, they have conjured the spirits from the mirror. The mirror was supposed to be a portal of lost souls, whom they have summoned after their candle-lighting incident. However, the ghosts do not reveal themselves yet.
Aside to the growing turmoil inside the house, Angel's boyfriend Lander's (Archie Alemania) unfaithfulness adds strain to their relationship causing them to be estranged. Thus, they have no contact to each other.
The hauntings began to worsen. A frantic Angel seeks help from her psychic friend Trixie (Dimples Romana). Their guts were right: Trixie told them that the spirits from the mirror were souls of the previous tenants of the house. They weren't just one, but many of them. And there is only one culprit. Angel and Trixie have decided to get rid of the mirror, dumping it in the river.
Rosing decided to bless the house. However, the hauntings worsened. Until one morning, after another haunting incident, the family had had enough. They hastily packed and were to move to Trixie's house. Before they depart, Angel saw another mirror that foresaw that her family will die.
At Trixie's house, the spirits have followed them relentlessly. That night, Angel decided to stop it all and trekked back to their old house. There, she learns that the house caretaker Nestor (Soliman Cruz) was the culprit on the crimes that happened.
The chase begins here. Trixie, Rosing and Nina came to Angel's aid; however, Trixie was bludgeoned in the head. They were forced to abandon her. Angel, Rosing and Nina tried to flee but they were cornered: Angel and Rosing were stabbed; Nina, the remaining survivor, was pursued by Nestor in the attic, where the latter hums the lullaby (the same lullaby in Uyayi Episode)to lure the terrified little girl. A bleeding Angel hits Nestor in the head, killing him.
